If you’re a first timer trying out Brazilian wax, you might be feeling a bit nervous since you don’t know what to really expect. Which is why for this blog, we will teach how to make your first Brazilian waxing experience smooth and less-painful.

What is Brazilian Waxing?

This is usually the question we get from most of our first-time clients.  is another hair removal technique that involves grooming and removing all the annoying pubic hair found on your pubic bone, around the external genitals, between the upper thighs, and around the anus using hot or cold wax. This process involves you lying down on a table while a trained esthetician applies wax to the hair in the pubic region. The wax is then quickly removed, taking all the hair with it leaving the skin clean and smooth for weeks!

Why You Should Consider Brazilian Waxing

There are many reasons why women prefer Brazilian waxing. For some, it’s for their personal hygiene, while others prefer the smooth and clean feeling that comes after it.

Fun fact: Brazilian Waxing can also help reduce the chances of ingrown hairs which can be very disturbing and is actually a common problem with other forms of hair removal.

How to Prepare for Your Waxing First Appointment

Now that you know a bit more of what Brazilian waxing is, here’s how you can prepare for your first appointment.

  1. Grow out your hair for the wax to grip

The first step in preparing for your Brazilian Waxing appointment is to grow out your hair. This may seem a bit counterintuitive to most of you, but it’s important to have at least 1/4 inch of hair in the pubic region for the wax to grip onto. This typically takes about two to three weeks of hair growth. So be patient if you want a good first-time experience.

  1. It’s important to exfoliate your skin the night before

The night before your appointment, it’s a good idea to exfoliate the pubic area. This will help remove the dead skin cells, which can make it easier for the wax to grip onto the hair. We recommend using a gentle exfoliating scrub or a washcloth to gently exfoliate the area.

  1. Avoid taking in caffeine and alcohol

A heads up for coffee lovers, avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your appointment. These can make your skin more sensitive, which can make the waxing process more uncomfortable. Stick to water and herbal tea instead.

  1. Wear loose and comfortable clothes

On the day of your appointment, be comfortable by wearing loose-fitting clothing. This will help prevent irritation and chafing in the pubic region after your wax. Tight clothes can tend to rub against the skin and cause irritation.

  1. Communicate with your esthetician

Finally, it’s important to always communicate with your esthetician. Let them know that it’s your first time getting a Brazilian wax, and ask them to walk you through the process. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t be afraid to speak up.

There you have it!

By following these 5 simple tips, you can prepare for your first Brazilian waxing appointment with confidence. Remember to grow out your hair, exfoliate the night before, avoid caffeine and alcohol, wear loose clothing, and communicate with your esthetician. With these steps, you’ll be well on your way to a smooth and clean feeling in the pubic region.
